Tesla’s Cybertruck debuted a new matte black wrap over the weekend, adding to the color schemes it has been spotted in.

According to Inside EVs, it was being driven around southern California by the company’s chief designer, Franz von Holzhausen.

The Cybertruck has been pictured in a range of wraps, from camouflage to being disguised as a Ford F-150.

And Tesla recently launched colored wraps for its Model 3 and Model Y, costing $7,500 – $8,000, Insider reported.

That could mean that the Cybertruck will be offered with colored wraps, for those who aren’t a fan of its usual stainless steel finish.

Other pictures of the long-awaited vehicle out in the wild have suggested its unique metallic exterior will make it a fingerprint magnet.

And Elon Musk warned employees about precision in manufacturing its sharp-edged design. “Any dimensional variation shows up like a sore thumb,” he said. “Precision predicates perfectionism.”

The matte black option did receive some praise from Tesla fans, being compared to a space ship and videos racking up thousands of likes.

But others didn’t hold back on the criticism.

“Don’t worry everyone, the Cybertruck looks horrible in matte black too,” said one post which was seen over 1 million times.

The same user posted a TikTok video of the vehicle accompanied by a mocking clown song.

After two years of delays, the first Cybertruck rolled off the production line in July.

And Musk told Joe Rogan last week that Tesla was aiming to produce 200,000 Cybertrucks a year.

Tesla said the first deliveries will be made on November 30.
